We believe the weather really adds to the atmosphere of a tour. If there is rain, please bring an umbrella and or raincoat, and enjoy the tour. Tours will only be cancelled if conditions become dangerous – we will notify you in these circumstances close to the tour time.


If you are unable to attend because of covid or other illness, please try to find someone else to use your tickets. If you are unable to do this, please email the reason for cancellation and your booking number to bookings@historicaustralia.com.au


Please read the individual disability access information for each tour. Some tours are not suitable for guests who use mobility aids or cannot walk for extended periods of time.


Disability Access & Companion Cards


Most tours are not suitable for children under 10 years.

Parents and guardians are advised that this tour features strong content in the form of true historic information and tales delivered through storytelling. The stories may include gruesome and macabre material including murders, crimes, violence, deaths, executions and suicide. The stories can be frightening, scary and distressing especially for young children.

All children under and including the age of 15 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

*Please note anyone under the age of 18 are not permitted on our Paranormal Investigations.

Where do I enter my promo code?

If it is a discount on the guest type (i.e. Adult, Concession, etc) please enter in the individual ticket field. This will be labelled:

“Do you have a promo or gift certificate code?”

If it is a discount on the whole booking, please enter in the Extra Information field, in the section labelled:

“Add promo or discount code”

I loved it! How do I provide feedback after my tour?

You will recive an email asking for feedback 24 hours after your tour. We welcome all comments, and appreciate you taking the time to respond. We’re always re-evaluating our tours to offer the best experience, and your feedback helps us immensely. You can also contact us by email at   bookings@historicaustralia.com.au.

Will I receive a confirmation?

Yes! Confirmations are sent automatically to your nominated email. All messages will come from our parent company, Historic Australia.

Are there toilets available on my tour?

Most of our sites have no toilet facilities available. Please ensure you use facilities elsewhere prior to your tour starting.

What do I need to bring on my tour?
  • Clients must be wearing flat-soled enclosed shoes. Thongs, sandals and high heels will not be permitted on tour.
  • If there is rain, please bring an umbrella and or raincoat, and enjoy the tour.

Evening Cemetery Tours:

  • Each guest is required to bring their own torch. Torch apps on smart phones are suitable.
Can I make changes to my booking?

Certainly, as long as you give us enough notice! Please read our rebooking/ cancellation policy for further details or contact us at bookings@historicaustralia.com.au.

What is the starting point for my tour?

Start locations information can be found on the individual tour pages, or within your confirmation and reminder emails. Please also refer to the map links as we have designed them to be as specific as possible!


Our tours start dead on time! If you are running late and miss the start of the tour, we will not be able to accommodate you. We recommend you DO NOT attempt to catch up to the group.

What is the level of fitness required on my tour?

Majority of our tours only require a low – moderate fintess ability. Some may require you to traverse steep hills or some stairs, so please check the accessibility information for each tour to be sure!

What do I need to show at check-in?

Please have your confirmation email ready for our guides. This can be shown on your device.

Our tour groups have a minimum of 2. Each tour has their own maximum size as below:

Coach Tours – 52

Do you accept concession cards?

Yes we do!

Historic Australia accepts seniors, pensioners, DVA and university students. We also accept companion cards, who are welcome on tour free of charge when accompaning their charge.

Customers will be asked to produce concession cards at check-in. If you have a Companion Card, please contact our office in order to book.

Help! I entered the wrong email or phone NUMBER!

That’s okay… please send us an email to bookings@historicaustralia.com.au with your booking number so that we can update for you.

Am I allowed to take photos or film on tour?

You are allowed to photograph whilst on tour. We do ask that you refrain whilst the guide is speaking to avoid distraction.

Filming and/or voice recording is strictly not permitted.

Is there a dress code? Can I wear a costume?

Horror costumes/ makeup/ masks are not permitted to be worn. Historic Australia reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone wearing a horror costume that is deemed inappropriate or distasteful.

Can I do Ghost Hunting or Paranormal Investigations?

Paranormal investigation / ghost hunting is strictly not permitted on tours. This includes but is not limited to: apps on mobile devices, Ouija boards, pendulums, video and still photography, psychic, medium and clairvoyant channelling of spirits. Do you run private or customer tours?

Yes! All of our public tours can be customised when turned into a private experience. Please email us on bookings@historicaustralia.com.au  with your preferred date, location and approximate numbers for more information.

Note: Groups must be a minimum size of 20. If your group is smaller, we will need a minimum financial commitment based on 20 attendees.

Where's my gift certificate?

You should have received instant confirmation of your gift voucher via email to send on to the recipient. If you haven’t received your gift certificate, please email us at bookings@historicaustralia.com.au.
